Grande Anse Beach
Regularly ranked among the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean, Grande Anse charms visitors with its long stretch of golden sand and coconut palms. On this Atlantic-facing side the swell can be strong, so swimming is not advised — but it is a perfect spot for a long walk, a shaded picnic or simply taking in the horizon. From the hillside of Terre-de-Haut it is about a 14-minute walk.
Pain de Sucre
This is the postcard image of Les Saintes: a small cove tucked beneath the volcanic peak of the same name, with calm, crystal-clear water. It is renowned for snorkelling — mask and snorkel are all you need to spot colourful fish and coral along the rocks. Arrive early in high season, as the beach is small and popular.
Anse Crawen
More secluded, Anse Crawen is a quiet cove with calm, sheltered water that is ideal for swimming. Its reef of gorgonians and seagrass beds also make it a fine snorkelling spot, where you can spot reef fish and sometimes green sea turtles. Perfect for escaping the crowds.
Anse Rodrigue
Wild and peaceful, Anse Rodrigue has a protected bay and excellent snorkelling. A preserved setting, perfect for the end of the day far from the bustle.
Pompierre Beach
Set in a sheltered horseshoe bay, Pompierre beach unfurls golden sand shaded by palms, with calm water ideal for families and good snorkelling. A little snack bar hides just behind. Iguanas are regulars here.
Practical tips
- Bring mask and snorkel — the best underwater scenery is at Pain de Sucre.
- Mornings are best for calm water and shade.
- Apart from a snack bar at Pompierre, the beaches have no shops: bring water and sun protection.
- From Villa Kazarev, most beaches are a 15–25 minute walk away.
